Worried about food safety?

Here's a link to an investigative report... NBC’s Jeff Rossen investigates the hidden filth and toxins of some imported seafood. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/40230853#40230853

The good news is that the Marinade Express removes antibiotics, salmonella, and other bad things that seem to end up in seafood. A few extra minutes of prep time, running your fish fillets or shrimp through the tumbling process ensures your food is safe as well as flavorful.

chicken breasts with fresh herbs

Summertime means fresh foods.
A friend gave me a grocery bag of salad greens from her garden.
When I got home, I noticed there were a few bags of fresh herbs too.
There was sweet basil and some thyme, both smelled really great!

I crushed a big handful of each and tossed them in the Marinade Express, added a tub of the unflavored marinade mixture for meats, about 54 oz of water (less than normal), and two packages of boneless chicken breasts. After 20 minutes I threw the chicken breasts on the grill and cooked them as-is, without any other seasonings.

The delicate flavor of the herbs was still present after grilling, and those chicken breasts tasted great! We had some leftover(!!), and you can just smell the green herbs when you open the bag.
Yummy

Shrimp-tastic

I have used this appliance for the years we were developing the product and marinade recipes,
and am still amazed by the results.
I had "lost" a 2# bag of frozen, uncooked, shell-on shrimp, in my feezer. Something I am certain no one else ever does.
It looked terrrible. Looked like a 4 inch snowafall in the bag. Counld hardly see the shrimp.

But it cost money. I couldn't just toss it.

I put it in the Marinade Express with a cup of the Express Unflavored and "spun" it for 10 minutes.
I let it rest out of the unflavored marinade for a few minutes, and then spun it for 8 more minutes.
I know, way more time than called for in the users guide, but I was sceptical.
Took it out and put it in my stove top steamer for 2 1/2 minutes.

It was fantastic.Great fresh shrimp flavor and texture and no "freezer burn".

Bottom line? Great Shrimp Cocktails the first day, Linguini with Shrimp the second day, and finished it off with great Shrimp Cocktails last night.
My wife and I enjoyed several great meals over the past three days, and I saved myself $18.00 on top of it.

Beginnings

Marinade Express is a fantastic new appliance.

It's not really new, but it is new to most folks. Marinade Express is a system that allows you to prepare flavorful food that is healthy. It has several advantages over any other approach.

The Patented GROVAC process puts the flavor deeper into the food. At the same time, it removes bacteria and other harmful components from food. The combination of a high vacuum and the marinade chemistry is what makes the magic happen.

Marinade times are measured in minutes, not hours or days. This is a big advantage.

If you are on a low-sodium diet, life can get bland. But with the Marinade Express, you can get some zip and taste in your meals.

We are going to explore this together, sharing recipes and techniques to make your food taste better.
